Fourth Thing

This was the easiest one yet! I used Google Reader after viewing "RSS in Plain English." I already had an account and it took only about ten minutes to look through a few blogs and subscribe. Like my friend "runnergirl" says, having another site to check might be too much trouble. After all, favorites can be linked directly onto our blogs, why not just read them from there? I'll probably see the value when I begin receiving the updates all together one page. Something I think is valuable to me, is the ability to keep up with news sites. I won't have to sign on to each one and read the articles. I can just go to one site and quickly read the updates. After subscribing to a few posts, I used the "Browse for stuff" link on Google Reader. It automatically matched me up with other posts of interest based on those I had already chosen. It was spot on. I picked four more. Now, I'm just getting greedy.

After publishing this post, I found something new to add...when you click on dashboard at the top of the screen, there's a tab called "blogs of note." Another way to locate some good ones.

  1. It's easy to get greedy! I find myself looking for more good RSS feeds to maintain my growing addiction. Here's hoping we never end up with twittering cell phones that we have to check every 15 minutes!
